The Briggs Farm Improvement Association (The Association or BFIA) owns, maintains and manages The Briggs Farm Marina which includes: a Beach and Picnic area, Kayak/Pram/Canoe Storage Areas, a Marina and a Boat Ramp. These facilities are for the exclusive use by Briggs Farm Association Members, their immediate families, and limited accompanied guests [note that Renters are NOT guests and are strictly excluded]. Members and Guests must abide the Beach Rules and Regulations and the Marina Rules and Regulations (click to view).
The Docks in The Marinaare for the exclusive use of Boat Owners who have been assigned a boat slip. Fishing, crabbing, swimming is strictly prohibited from the boat docks. These Slips are assigned by BFIA to Briggs Farm Association Members on a first-come, first-served basis. Currently there is a Wait List for a Boat Slip (Click for Dock Waiting List). There is a one-time, non-refundable $100 application fee to be added to the Dock Waiting List. Slip assignees pay an annual fee (Marina Fees) for the use of the Docks, and must agree to abide by the Marina Rules set by The Association. In addition, they must either participate in the spring - Docks Going In - and the fall - Docks Coming Out - events or pay an additional fee. There are sixty-six (66) Kayak Rack spaces in the Beach/Picnic Area. In addition there are a few spaces along the road designated for assigned Canoe and Pram Storage (no kayaks). These ‘Racks and Storage Spaces’ are assigned by The Association on a first-come, first-served basis to Members in Good Standing that have submitted an application. Applicants may request a maximum of two (2) Kayak Racks or one (1) Parm/Canoe Storage Space. Currently there is a waiting list (Click for Kayak Waiting List). Kayak Rack or Pram/Canoe Storage Space assignees pay an annual fee (Marina Fees) and must agree to abide by the Beach Rules and Marina Rules. The Beach and Picnic area includes several Picnic Tables, a Bocce Court and a Porta-Potty Members are welcome to bring their guests to the Beach and Picnic area however parties are limited to 10 people unless the member applied for Permission to Host a Private Function / Special Use in advance. Private Function permission is granted on a first-come, first-served basis (see Private Function Application). Only one member may host a Private Function at a time and the BFIA Board reserves the right to refuse permission for any reason. There is a fee of $100 to hold a Private Function. Note that hosting a Private Function in the picnic area does not mean the member is granted exclusive use. They must make every effort to accommodate other members as the facility shall remain open.
Access and Parking- There are approximately 150 member-families in The Association and the Marina/Beach facility can accommodate only about 30 parked vehicles. For this reason, BFIA has instituted a hang-tag system. Each member-family is issued one (1) parking permit hang-tag and that Hang-tag may only be used on vehicles pre-registered (by plate number) with BFIA. Any vehicle parked in the area not displaying a current hang-tag registered to that vehicle is subject to towing at the owners expense. Any member attempting to subvert the hang-tag system or falsifying information may lose their 'member in good-standing' status and will lose their membership to the BFIA. Security Guard - Our Marina and Beach is a much sought-after, attractive and convenient area. Therefore it is a constant challenge to keep non-members out of the area. Exposure to liability, additional wear-and-tear and facility crowding are all reasons for us to jealously enforce the rules to bar outsiders. On certain days that have historically been a problem, BFIA will post a hired Guard at the entrance checking hang-tags and ID of all persons arriving. Please be patient and cooperate as this is for your benefit. Note that there are several Security Cameras installed in the Beach and marina Facility. These are recording 24 hours a day. In addition we ask all members to keep an eye out for suspicious activity. If you see something, say something. If possible, snap a picture and/or write down a plate number. Email the information to: propertyuse@briggsfarm.org
Trash - Trash receptacles tend to attract vermin and insects, smell terrible and are a target for vandalism so we do not have trash cans in the beach or marina area. Members must take their trash with them and dispose of it properly off-site. Dogs - Members are welcome to walk their leashed, well mannered dogs on marina roads, provided that they pickup after them and properly dispose of it off-site. Please, keep your dog(s) off the grass and beach sand.
